Equipment Engineer for API chemistry pilot plant

Your impact begins here

As Equipment Engineer, you will help secure stable operation across some of our API pilot facilities and prepare for a new facility we take over in August 2027. You will keep production running by solving equipment challenges on the shop floor and driving improvements that make our equipment more robust and reliable. Your work directly supports the manufacture of medicines for clinical studies and, ultimately, people living with serious chronic diseases.

What you'll bring

We are looking for someone who combines technical understanding with a strong sense of urgency and a genuine problem-solving mindset. You will need:

•  A Master's degree in Engineering, ideally Chemical Engineering.

•  A few years of relevant experience, so you can work independently from the start in a fast-moving environment.

• Knowledge of GMP or experience from the pharmaceutical or another regulated industry.

•  A strong problem-solving orientation and a sense of urgency, so downtime is minimised when equipment issues arise.

•  A flair for written work, as documentation such as change requests and deviations is an important part of the role.

•  A structured, quality-oriented and self-driven way of working, with curiosity and the ability to see opportunities.

Useful, but not essential:

•  Knowledge of GMP or experience from the pharmaceutical or another regulated industry.

•  Experience operating and maintaining plants and/or production equipment.

•  Some knowledge of electronics, automation and IT, or an interest to learn.

What you'll do

You will take shared responsibility for equipment support, staying close to production while driving improvements over time. Your work will include:

•  Solving equipment challenges on the shop floor during the day to keep production campaigns running and minimise downtime.

•  Driving improvements that make equipment more robust and reliable, including vessels, sensors, heat exchangers, pumps and piping.

•  Implementing new production equipment, working with suppliers, driving change requests and taking part in qualification activities.

•  Defining maintenance strategies, critical spare parts and calibration requirements, and providing input to SAP.

•  Conducting system evaluations and trending equipment performance, and discontinuing equipment when no longer needed.

•  Producing clear documentation and coordinating through workshops and structured problem-solving sessions.

Who you'll work with

You will join the production support team within the Chemical Manufacturing & Control (CMC) API Pilots Purification department in Bagsværd. The department has 90+ colleagues across six teams and four facilities, scaling up processes and purifying, modifying and drying proteins for toxicological and clinical studies, as part of Novo Nordisk Product Supply, Quality & IT.

In a close-knit team of skilled engineers and experienced principal technicians, you will be assigned specific pieces of equipment while working together to keep the combined facility running. Your closest partners will be the production teams of pilot scientists and process technicians, and you will collaborate across QA, IT & Automation and Calibration. As the new facility comes online in 2027, this collaboration will move at real pace.

What you can expect here

You will join early enough to learn the ropes before stepping into the role as a supporter for a new facility. It is a role with genuine variety: time at your desk writing documents and coordinating, and time on the shop floor solving real problems alongside colleagues. You will be trusted to take ownership, make your voice heard and grow your technical and pharmaceutical expertise across the value chain.

The salary range for this level is DKK 570,200 to DKK 838,100, depending on experience.

Incentives and Benefits: The salary package may include short-term and/or long-term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level, location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.Learn more about our Reward Philosophy.
