Equipment Engineer

Bagsværd, Denmark, Onsite

CMC API Pilots Purification Department

Would you like to help us secure the operations of our pilot plants within a growing portfolio of pharmaceutical products? Do you want to expand your knowledge within pilot production and equipment used to dry APIs of the future? If yes, then you could be our new colleague as Equipment Engineer.

Your new role

As our Equipment Engineer you will join our production support team in Bagsværd. You will be working closely together with several other colleagues to help the drying production team succeed with their campaigns.

We want you to:

  • Drive systematic problem-solving activities and deviations when equipment breaks down
  • Implement new production equipment based on the pilot’s future needs, by taking contact to supplier(s), driving change requests, and taking part in qualification activities
  • Define maintenance strategies, critical spare parts and calibration requirements, as well as provide input to SAP
  • Conduct system evaluations and trending of equipment performance
  • Discontinue and decommission equipment when no longer needed

The position will contain a mixture of both practical and documentation tasks. You will be working closely together with the drying production team, consisting of pilot scientists and process technicians, as well as stakeholders across the organisation (QA, IT & Automation, Calibration, etc.). You will be assigned the primary responsibility for our freeze dryer but are expected to work as a team with your fellow Equipment Engineers to ensure the stable operation of the combined drying facility.

Your new department

We are 70+ employees in the Chemical Manufacturing & Control (CMC) API Pilots Purification department, divided into five teams, and three facilities. Our task is to scale up processes and purify and dry proteins for toxicological and clinical studies.

You will be part of the production support team consisting of approximately 20 highly skilled academics and principal technicians, responsible for ensuring stable operation of all production equipment across the three facilities, and driving the design, qualification, and commissioning of related equipment.

Your skills and qualifications

We expect you have a master’s degree in engineering. You thrive in a dynamic environment, are flexible, structured, quality-orientated and self-driven, and have a strong sense of urgency when needed. You are a positive, service-minded person, and enjoy the combination of desk work and working with other people.

Furthermore, the following is considered an advantage:

  • Several years of experience within operating and maintaining plants and/or equipment.
  • Knowledge of GMP and/or working in the pharmaceutical industry or another regulated industry.
  • Experience with API drying processes (spray drying and/or freeze drying)
  • Some knowledge within electronics, automation and IT (or at least an interest to learn)
