The position
We are currently seeking a dedicated Environmental Steward to join our API Pilot Production Unit. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring environmental compliance and driving environmental initiatives and awareness across a number of facilities within the unit. 

 

Your tasks will include:

  • Defining annual environmental targets.
  • Monitoring and reporting environmental data (ethanol waste, emissions, raw material consumption, etc.) to ensure compliance with environmental standards and regulations.
  • Taking part in environmental (ISO 14001) inspections.
  • Providing project-support by performing environmental assessments of new equipment, chemicals, processes and modifications to the facilities.
  • Handling environmental incidents to ensure adequate control and correction.
  • Driving Circular-for-zero initiatives to promote sustainability and reduce the environmental footprint of the production unit.
  • Conducting training to ensure that employees understand and adhere to the company's environmental policies. 

 

You will be working closely with the production teams, support teams, other Environmental Stewards, the Environmental coordinator, as well as the Environmental Advisor in the unit. Your tasks will generally consist of a combination of desk, collaborative, and coordination work. 

 

Qualifications 
To succeed in this role, we expect you to have:

  • A Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Ideally, proven experience in environmental management within a regulated production environment.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

 

On a personal level, you are structured, reliable, and can pay attention to detail. You are self-driven and self-motivated, with a strong "can-do" attitude. You work well as part of a team but also excel in environments where you need to work independently and take initiative. You are eager to engage with the production teams and curious to understand the daily operations of the facilities.

 

About the department

We are 350+ employees in the Chemical Manufacturing & Control (CMC) API Pilots Production, divided into eight departments, 22 facilities, and two locations. Our task is to scale up processes and produce APIs for toxicological and clinical studies. We are part of the Novo Nordisk Product Supply, Quality & IT (PSQIT) organization, responsible for manufacturing and distributing products to markets and patients all over the world.
