The position
As our new Environmental Compliance Specialist, you will understand, translate, and communicate existing and emerging environmental regulations related to water resources and natural habitats across Product Supply sites. You will serve as the single point of contact with regulatory agencies to secure necessary permits and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance. Supporting sites with permit planning and processes, you will ensure effective implementation and timely permitting. Your role will involve integrating subject matter expertise about water resources and natural habitats into procedures and tools in our projects and environmental management system. You will provide technical expertise on issues such as water pollution control and nature protection, focusing on solutions that meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders. Staying updated on emerging trends, technologies, and regulations related to environmental protection, specifically in water recycling, reuse, and purification, will be crucial. Additionally, you will prepare and submit detailed reports to management and regulatory bodies to demonstrate compliance and reduced environmental impact. Collaborating with sites and key internal stakeholders, you will drive nature-targeted activities to reduce environmental impact, linking to our net zero commitment.

 

Qualifications

Need to have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Water Resources Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in environmental compliance with a focus on water and nature protection.
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and guidelines related to water resources and nature management.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in environmental impact assessments and audits.
  • Experience working with regulatory bodies and in securing environmental permits.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in environmental monitoring tools and software.
  • Fluent Danish and English skills, both written and verbal.

 

Nice to have:

  • Certification in environmental compliance or related fields.

About the department
Anchored within PSQIT Sustainability, you will be part of the growing Environmental Compliance and Expansions Support department, currently made up of approximately 20 employees. Our team is responsible for driving proactive compliance to protect Novo Nordisk’s global license to operate and to drive down our environmental impact from production activities towards our ambitious targets. The job is based at our headquarters, where you will experience a dynamic and supportive atmosphere.
