Your new role
You will become part Chemistry Pilot Plant (ChPP) – a part of Chemistry, Manufacturing & Control (CMC) API Pilots DK, where we manufacture APIs to support clinical trials and ensuring process transfer to commercial production.
The department consists of 58 motivated employees divided into 4 teams. The support team consists of 13 employees (8 scientists, 4 technicians and a student worker). The team performs various tasks related to logistics, validation and implementation of new equipment, securing existing equipments conforms to validated state, deviation handling, direct support to our 4 production rooms in Chemistry Pilot Plant and much more.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring environmental compliance and driving environmental initiatives and awareness within own department, ChPP, and cross-functional initiatives at several facilities within CMC API Pilots DK.
Your tasks will include:
- Driving Circular-for-zero initiatives to promote sustainability and reduce the environmental footprint of the production unit.
- Providing project-support by performing environmental assessments of new equipment, chemicals, processes and modifications to the facilities to ensure a safe working place.
- Defining annual environmental targets.
- Monitoring and reporting environmental data (ethanol waste, emissions, raw material consumption, etc.) to ensure compliance with environmental standards and regulations.
- Taking part in environmental (ISO 14001) inspections.
- Handling environmental incidents to ensure adequate control and correction.
- Conducting training to ensure that employees understand and adhere to the company's environmental policies.
Your skills & qualifications
To succeed in this role, we expect you to have:
- A bachelor's degree in environmental science, Engineering, or another related technical field.
- Ideally, proven experience in environmental management within a regulated production environment and experience in project work.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
On a personal level, to succeed in this role, you are structured, reliable, and can pay attention to detail. You are self-driven and self-motivated, with a strong "can-do" attitude and confidence. You work well as part of a team but also excel in environments where you need to work independently and take initiative. You are eager to engage with the production teams and curious to understand the daily operations of the facilities. You can prioritise tasks and ensure timely escalation but also be willing to adapt to ever-changing demands.

CMC Chemistry Pilot Plant is organisationally placed within CMC & Product Supply, where dedicated employees work on the development and manufacturing of new drug candidates for non‑clinical and clinical studies.
In the Chemistry Pilot Plant, our primary focus is the production of APIs and intermediates for clinical studies, mainly for phases 1 and 2, adhering to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards. We work with synthesis, processing, chromatographic purification, filtration, and spray‑drying under GMP, and we support development projects in various stages.
