The Position
As an Environmental Expert – focusing on water management, you will play a crucial role in achieving our goal of zero environmental impact by balancing our resource use and dependency on nature, particularly water. You will collaborate across the global organization to gather insights and implement enhancements, aligning our manufacturing sites with Novo Nordisk's environmental objectives and the Circular for Zero strategy.
You will support and drive the agenda on water consumption and use through our environmental management system, working closely with utility Subject Matter Experts, manufacturing sites, facility management, and local utilities to reduce our water impact.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement standards for water savings in Aseptic Manufacturing processes, focusing on water recycling and optimization.
  • Coordinate best practices across PS AM and NN.
  • Develop and secure water supply risk mitigation plans for production sites. 
  • Lead and participate in environmental projects related to process standardization, water savings, and Water-Nature initiatives.

Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you need:

  • A master’s degree in climate change, sustainability, engineering, nature sciences, or a relevant field, along with approximately 5 years or more of experience in this field and handling complex processes.
  • Significant knowledge of water flow, quality and water system design.
  • Advantageous to know about impact on nature, insights into the circular economy, and an understanding of sustainability requirements and opportunities, preferably with insights into pharmaceutical production and process knowledge, including regulatory processes. 
  • Excellent stakeholder and project management skills to support and motivate diverse stakeholders from various roles, backgrounds, and nationalities.
  • Proficiency in structured work processes and hands-on experience in facilitation, with knowledge extending to production processes in larger manufacturing sites.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to share recommendations with management.
  • Comfort and proficiency in using new technologies and computers, including MS Office products, databases, spreadsheets, and dashboards.
  • Professional proficiency in English is required, while proficiency in written and spoken Danish is advantageous.

 

You have a high degree of integrity and the ability to structure and prioritize work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues, building long-lasting network relations and facilitating value-adding discussions with good overview and strategic flair. Motivated and energetic, with willingness to take the initiative and lead projects. Time management skills and structured approach to work, able to maintain a comprehensive overview and complete tasks even during busy periods. Adapt to shifting priorities in a changing environment. Demonstrated ability to identify best practices and instigate improvements across methods, techniques, and approaches. 
 

About the department
Novo Nordisk Product Supply Aseptic Manufacturing (PS AM) is an area within Novo Nordisk that is responsible for global aseptic production manufacturing sites. You will be part of the PS AM Business Development & Support CVP area which is responsible for developing and optimizing our supporting processes related to our manufacturing network, such as Finance, Procurement, Investments, Capacities, Business Development, Business Intelligence, Environmental Sustainability, and cLEAN. Further, we are responsible for translating and driving global results in accordance with our environmental strategy “Circular for Zero” for our global manufacturing network.
