The Position
You will be a part of a department responsible for the labour and employment law aspects within Novo Nordisk in Denmark. Primarily responsible for consulting with and advising managers in personnel cases and other day-to-day questions such as e.g. organisational changes, demotions, working time, shiftwork.
Other responsibilities will include:
- Negotiating with local unions regarding personnel cases and organisational changes.
- Preparing presentations and memos for management.
- Handling warnings and terminations in compliance with relevant rules, regulations and local policies.
- Participating in different projects related to employee terms and conditions, e.g., related to interpretation of new legislation and implementation thereof, and occasionally acting as a project manager for various projects.
- Conducting legal proofreading to ensure alignment between Danish and English versions of documents and understanding the differences between national law and our local and collective agreements.
- Teaching internal courses in labour law in both Danish and in English.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role:
- You hold a law degree (cand.jur / cand.merc.jur).
- You have solid experience with the collective bargaining system in Denmark and Danish labour market legislation. Thorough knowledge of collective agreements for hourly-paid employees is an advantage.
- You have experience as a negotiator, e.g., from a business or an organisation.
- You must be able to communicate information about statutory rules and collective agreements, e.g., by teaching labour law to managers at Novo Nordisk.
- As our corporate language is English, you must have a good command of English in addition to being fluent in Danish.

About the department
Our office is currently located at Novo Nordisk Headquarters in Bagsvaerd, consisting of 10 employment lawyers.
The department is responsible for Danish labour and employment law within Novo Nordisk’s business areas in Denmark. This includes negotiating collective and local agreements, salary negotiations with local unions, and handling of personnel cases.
