This is a unique opportunity to join Novo Nordisk and Corporate Procurement’s transformation journey and be a key part of an executive-sponsored cost optimisation programme that releases sustainable external cost for reinvestment in Novo Nordisk’s strategic priorities. As Director, you will lead a strong team of category managers and procurement professionals to set direction across Travel, Fleet, Professional & HR Services and deliver measurable value at the intersec-tion of strategy and stakeholder experience. You will ensure the team sets the strategic direction for their global categories and deliver tangible impact.  If you are energised by leadership, pace, complexity, and creating impact, this role gives you the platform to do it.

 

Your new role

You will join at our Headquarters in Bagsværd, Denmark, and report to the Senior Director of Corporate Services. As Director for Travel, Fleet, Professional & HR Services within Corporate Procurement, you will provide people, functional and strategic leadership for the area, leading a team of 8 direct reports and providing matrix leadership to offshored resources. You will be active part of Corporate Services’ Leadership Team and of the Corporate Procurement’s Extended Leadership Team, ensuring senior impact across Corporate Procurement and beyond.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide people and functional leadership for your Travel, Fleet, Professional & HR Services Team, setting clear direction, priorities and ways of working that enable delivery of the Corporate Procurement strategy.
  • Lead organisational design and development, ensuring the right set-up, roles and capabilities to meet evolving business needs.
  • Develop and execute cost-optimisation initiatives and strategic plans, translating ambition into clear roadmaps, decisions and measurable outcomes delivered with business sponsors and anchored in strong governance.
  • Build and develop individuals and talents within your team and through functional lead of offshore delivery through timely feedback, coaching and performance management, fostering an engaging, high-performing and inclusive culture rooted in the Novo Nordisk Way.
  • Drive continuous optimisation, standardisation and digitalisation across processes, while leading prioritisation in a complex stakeholder landscape.

 

Your new department

Corporate Procurement manages Novo Nordisk's global indirect spend of approximately 130 billion DKK. We define and drive the global procurement strategy with around 150 employees in Denmark and over 500 globally, acting as a strategic partner in executing the company’s strategy and enabling value at scale. We are anchored with our CFO.

Your skills and qualifications

To succeed in this role, you bring strong strategic leadership capability combined with deep procurement expertise and a people‑centred leadership style. You likely have:

  • A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Strategic Procurement, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of leadership experience within strategic procurement, ideally from a large, global organisation.
  • Proven ability to translate strategy into execution through clear prioritisation, strong decision‑making and delivery through others.
  • Strong track record of building partnerships and influencing senior stakeholders globally and leading through change, uncertainty and complexity.
  • Demonstrated experience in project and change management, supported by data‑driven decision‑making and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • The ability to build trust and psychological safety, develop diverse teams and foster engagement and empowerment.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

Salary: For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 940,800 DKK to 1,448,700 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position.
The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.

The salary package may include short‑term and/or long‑term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level, location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.
