Your new role

We are looking for a leader with a strong track record of delivering measurable business value alongside social and public health impact. You are comfortable operating at the intersection of commercial strategy, partnerships and social responsibility, and you translate purpose‑driven ambitions into scalable, sustainable solutions. As Director of Equitable Access, you will lead the strategic direction and execution across all Equitable Access initiatives within Social Responsibility. This is a highly influential role with broad responsibility and a wide scope of authority. You will set the strategic direction, lead a specialised team, and work across the organisation and with external partners to deliver sustainable access solutions at scale. In your role, you will be:

  • Setting the strategic direction and lead the global Equitable Access agenda, ensuring strong execution of programmes that align with Social Responsibility and wider corporate priorities, while anticipating future challenges and opportunities.
  • Leading and developing a highly specialised team, fostering a high‑performing, inclusive culture and building long‑term organisational capabilities.
  • Overseeing global programmes, partnerships, including budget ownership, full accountability for KPIs and impact measurement frameworks related to Equitable Access.
  • Work closely across functions and regions, connecting Equitable Access with Prevention, Product & Portfolio Strategy, Supply, Market Access and other key areas to drive integrated solutions.
  • Represent Novo Nordisk externally, acting as a trusted voice and thought leader on Equitable Access, shaping global dialogue through advocacy, publications and high‑level engagement with partners and policy makers.

 

Your new department

You will join the Social Responsibility (SR) area and report to the Head of Social Responsibility. The Equitable Access sub‑function plays a central role in Novo Nordisk’s ambition to improve access to medicines and care for underserved populations globally. The role has global scope and requires close collaboration with colleagues across regions, EVP areas, the Novo Nordisk family Foundations and external stakeholders to deliver meaningful and lasting impact.

 

Your skills and qualifications

You are a purpose‑driven leader who combines strategic thinking with the ability to turn ideas into action in complex environments. We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • A Master’s or PhD in Business, Public Health, International Affairs or a related field. Additional qualifications in access to medicines, emerging markets or global health diplomacy are an advantage.
  • 10+ years of experience in Equitable Access, global health, health systems or commercial emerging markets.
  • A proven track record of leading complex programmes and partnerships across organisations, with clear and measurable impact. Preference for experience that highlights business value alignment with social responsibility.
  •  5+ years of proven experience successfully leading senior professionals and developing teams with more than five employees
  • Experience managing budgets and using monitoring and evaluation frameworks to guide decision‑making.
  • Strong communication, influence and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to represent an organisation externally in high-level forums and influencing policy or practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver social and health impact within business driven, performance oriented organisations, translating purpose into scalable and measurable results.

Salary:  For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 940,800.00 to 1,448,700.00 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position.

The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.

 

Incentives and Benefits: The salary package may include short-term and/or long-term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level,  location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.
