Development Scientist in API Downstream Development

About the department
The job is placed in the department Downstream Development in CMC API Development, located in Bagsværd. Our main responsibility is to develop manufacturing processes for new proteins and peptides used in clinical trials. We do so in close collaboration with the research and manufacturing units, pilot facilities, and Contract Manufacturing Organisations (CMOs). The department has 110+ employees divided in 6 teams that work together.
Currently, we are expanding knowledge within filtration in our area and therefore we need you!
The position
In this position you will primarily be responsible for planning (alone in collaboration with other colleagues), executing and analysing laboratory experiments to develop robust and scalable filtration and purification processes. Particularly at the beginning, performing laboratory/pilot scale experimental work will be a significant part of your job.
You will:
- Be responsible for developing downstream processes for peptides and proteins. Drive an overall process perspective, connecting challenges and potential opportunities for the entire process to seek the optimal solution together with your stakeholders and colleges
- Perform, evaluate and report experimental work in the laboratory
- Provide data analysis as well as input at technical design reviews
- Collaborate with laboratory technicians, including trouble shooting on technical issues
- Participate in cross-functional project groups and professional collaboration forums
- Be innovative in experimental design and optimization, identifying innovative solutions to technical problems, data handling and secure IPR
- Drive cross organisational optimization projects

Qualifications
You hold a M.Sc. preferable a PhD in biochemistry, (bio-)chemical engineering, protein chemistry or related discipline. You have minimum 3 years of experience within downstream process steps such as chromatography, filtrations, enzymatic reactions and supporting analytics. A theoretical understanding in combination with practical experience from lab within chromatography and filtration.

Salary: For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 570,200 to 838,100 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position.
The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.
Incentives and Benefits: The salary package may include short‑term and/or long‑term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level, location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.
