About the department

As part of Novo Nordisk’s Product Supply organization, Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients is responsible for manufacturing all API for Novo Nordisk’s products. You will be assigned to Manufacturing Development (MDev), a cross-functional area that works at the interface between R&D and full-scale manufacturing with a strategic focus on technology transfer, scale-up and process improvement-optimization. You will be employed in MDev Bioprocess Improvement-Optimization (MDev BIO), a recently established and growing group of 4 highly skilled colleagues plus 5 MSc students, working with advanced model-based approaches for designing and understanding Bioprocesses of the Future.

In MDev BIO we have a problem-solving mindset where we work in a dynamic environment to convert engineering challenges into opportunities. If you’re curious as to how we tackle these challenges and would like some examples, then don’t hesitate to continue reading.

We tackle these challenges through Multiscale Modelling where we have activities in Mechanistic Modelling, Process Control Modelling, Capacity Modelling and Supply Chain Optimization Modelling. Briefly, we aim to navigate a complex design and decision space for each of the scales on the multiscale. As our new colleague you will be joining us in the scale of Capacity Modelling where we focus on process-wide “what if” analyses for design, capacity expansions and project portfolio generation.
