The position

As a Data Analyst/ Data Scientist in Procurement BI, you will work in close collaboration with experienced analysts, BI professionals and category managers across our global procurement organisation to generate the most insights from big data using your data science toolbox.


You will be part of a BI team consisting of strong and experienced analysts/data engineer where you will be responsible for:

  • Translating business challenges into data science problems and applications in collaboration with your colleagues in the global procurement organisation
  • Designing and driving the creation and adoption of new standards and best practices in the use of statistical data modelling, big data, and optimisation tools
  • Deploying data-science and technology based algorithmic solutions to address business needs



  • You have completed a master’s degree in data science, maths, statistics or similar  with excellent results
  • You are either newly graduated (with internship/ student assistant experience in an international environment) or have 1-2 years of working experience
  • You have ability to translate complex logics into data solutions that can be used by the decision-makers
  • Knowledge of regression, linear analysis, predictive/ descriptive models, sampling, distribution, and other statistical and advanced maths concepts
  • Some knowledge or experience in one or more programming languages such as R, Python, and SQL
  • Basic or working experience with Power BI, and other visualisation tools is a plus

About the department

Corporate Procurement is the Centre of Excellence for procurement in Novo Nordisk. We are responsible for the global procurement strategy, processes, and systems. We negotiate contracts covering more than DKK 30 billion of Novo Nordisk’s spend. Global Procurement has 500 employees around the world with the largest hubs in Denmark, India and the US, and is anchored with direct report to the CFO of Novo Nordisk.


A key enabler for taking Procurement to the next level will be to utilise advanced analytics and data modelling further to drive value in and from procurement. The BI team is responsible for driving this journey.
