After 23 years with Novo Nordisk, the current Corporate Vice President (CVP) is stepping aside, and therefore we are on the lookout for a new Corporate Vice President (CVP) to head up Global Communication. This role offers the opportunity to lead a global communication function in a very exciting time for the company and for communication, drive impactful initiatives to further strengthen our reputation, and collaborate with diverse senior stakeholders within the organisation.

The Global Communication Department at Novo Nordisk consists of approximately 60+ professionals who are working in Global Media and Stakeholder Communication, Content and Digital, Reputation and Corporate Brand, and Executive and Employee Communication, while the entire global function comprises of approximate 350+ colleagues working in communication across geographies and all EVP areas. As CVP Global Communication, the key responsibilities are to:

  • Continue to develop and drive the global communication function based on a forward-thinking strategic vision, while also driving the Global Communication Leadership Team.
  • Lead and nurture a high-performing communication department, building on the culture of sustainable work-life and collaboration to achieve organisational objectives.
  • Oversee global media and important stakeholder communication, ensuring there are proactive efforts to manage risks and opportunities to our reputation and that issues and crises are managed effectively.
  • Oversee initiatives that enhance the company's corporate brand, ensuring alignment with the overall business strategy and that the communication function speaks with one voice.
  • Oversee the development of impactful digital content, leveraging data and insights to inform content creation and impact, and spearheading AI initiatives to enhance productivity.
  • Oversee the creation and implementation of impactful communication strategies during periods of high uncertainty, while also driving engaging internal communication to reach global employees and leaders, thus enabling cohesive messaging within the company aligned with corporate strategy and purpose.
  • Foster stakeholder engagement and influence both internally and externally, driving meaningful relationships to achieve organisational objectives, while also serving as an advisor to the CEO and the rest of the Executive Management on all major global communication initiatives.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum of 15 years of demonstrated expertise in corporate communication within a global context, with a proven track record of at least 5-8 years in a leadership capacity showcasing strategic leadership and industry acumen.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing communication strategies during periods of high uncertainty, demonstrating adaptability and astute decision-making to effectively navigate challenging scenarios.
  • Experienced in role modelling an enterprise mindset and promoting a culture of cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experienced in providing strategic communication counsel to senior management.
  • Established success in leading and cultivating high-performing, large-scale communication teams, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration to achieve organisational objectives.
  • Prior experience within the pharmaceutical industry is advantageous, reflecting an understanding of the unique dynamics and communication requirements within this sector.
  • Adaptability and flexibility in navigating through complex and evolving communication landscapes, adeptly adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Encourages and champions innovative approaches to communication, staying updated on emerging trends and technologies in the field.
