If you are looking for an opportunity to work with brand protection with some of the largest brands in the pharmaceutical industry, now is your chance. We are currently seeking a Corporate Counsel to join our Trademark team, supporting brand protection across our global portfolio. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of IP law, enforcement strategy, and commercial risk management in a highly international environment. You will contribute to the development and execution of Trademark portfolio management and Trademark enforcement across key jurisdictions.

 

Your new role

You will work closely together with the Brand Protection Lead (senior counsel) and report to the Global Head of Trademarks. Day-to-day execution will take place in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external counsel across the globe to manage the following responsibilities:

 

Trademark Enforcement & Disputes:

  • Support global enforcement actions, including infringement, passing off, and unfair competition matters.
  • Assist in handling disputes before courts and administrative bodies.
  • Coordinate with local counsel on trademark enforcement strategy and case development.

 

Case Management:

  • Conduct legal analysis of infringement risks and enforcement options.
  • Prepare case summaries, legal briefs, and evidence packages.
  • Monitor ongoing disputes and ensure alignment with global enforcement strategy.

 

Investigations:

  • Support investigations into potential infringements, counterfeits, and parallel trade and grey market goods.
  • Assist in gathering and assessing evidence for enforcement actions.

 

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Work closely with commercial teams and the broader legal organisation to put enforcement strategies into enterprise context.
  • Provide clear, practical legal advice to business stakeholders.

 

Your new department

You will join the Corporate IP department, part of Finance, Legal & Global Solutions, a business area that enables Novo Nordisk to fulfil its purpose by safeguarding the business, providing corporate infrastructure and driving value creation. In Corporate IP, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders, bringing a strong strategic lens to sensitive, business‑critical matters – often balancing pace, risk and stakeholder expectations in a dynamic environment.

 

Your skills & qualifications

We are looking for a person who has a proactive mindset and a strong sense of ownership. Someone who can stay calm, structured, and solution-oriented when things are fast paced and the way forward is not clear. Also,to succeed in this role you bring:

  • A law degree (LL.M. or equivalent) from a recognized university
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in IP law from a law firm or in-house function
  • Strong exposure to trademark law, passing off, or unfair competition matters (preferably from the life science industry)
  • Strong analytical and drafting skills
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, operational advice that supports strategic decision making
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)

Salary: For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 716.000,00 DKK to 1,052,500.00 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position. The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.

 

Incentives and Benefits: The salary package may include short-term and/or long-term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level, location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.
