Key Responsibilities:
This position will play a pivotal role in leading and supporting our climate roadmaps and leading some of our key strategic projects and priorities within our supply chain decar-bonisation tracks. We need to act within and beyond our own operations to achieve net zero emissions in 2045 as our supply chain accounts for 96% of our total CO2 emissions. Therefore, it’s crucial to work closely together with our procurement functions as well as our suppliers to reduce our emissions. 

 

Your responsibilities within this role will include:
•    Drive supplier decarbonisation strategy execution across the business and proac-tively highlighting new decarbonisation projects 
•    Work closely with procurement and sourcing units to develop and implement key activities and ensuring suppliers' progress with Scope 3 decarbonisation plans and targets
•    Provide sustainability guidance and sparring to stakeholders on various decarbon-isation technologies 
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams and Line of Business to identify and im-plement decarbonisation projects
•    Manage global cross-functional projects (internal and external) and communicate and align with stakeholders across business areas
•    Contribute to communicating initiatives and progress to internal and external stakeholders through facts & figures data collection, expert inputs, presentation, and more

 

Qualifications:
We expect candidates to have:
•    Master’s degree in Environmental science, sustainability, engineering, or a related field
•    A minimum of 5 years of experience in climate strategy, sustainability, or envi-ronment-related fields, preferably related to supply chain decarbonisation
•    Strong knowledge of greenhouse gas accounting and reporting practices, particu-larly related to Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions – preferable related to sourcing
•    Proven expertise in one or more of the following areas: sustainability strategy, Scope 3 decarbonisation or supplier engagement  
•    Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead strategic initiatives effectively across business units
•    Good communication and collaboration skills, with a talent for building strong working relationships at all levels
•    Solid knowledge and experience in managing business processes and strategy development

 

The ideal candidate will bring relevant work experience from a corporate function within an international environment, demonstrating a strong ability to navigate complex situa-tions involving multiple business units and stakeholders. Fluency in written and spoken English is essential for effective communication across diverse teams. A flexible mindset and a "can-do" attitude are also crucial, as they enable the candidate to work inde-pendently while adapting to the dynamic demands of the role.

 

About the Department

Corporate Environmental Strategy is a diverse team responsible for ‘Circular for Zero’, where we strive for zero environmental impact. Our responsibility includes a variety of environ-mental initiatives across the organisation and with external stakeholders. We develop and deploy environmental strategies, run cross- organisational projects, drive environ-mental intelligence and ensure internal and external communication leading to a reduced Novo Nordisk environmental footprint. The department consist of 30 dedicated project managers and specialists, all highly engaged in driving the environmental strategy of Novo Nordisk.
