The position
The Category Manager position at Novo Nordisk plays a crucial role in optimizing category strategies at both local and regional levels. This role involves ongoing interaction with various stakeholders to ensure that category initiatives align properly with business objectives. A Category Manager not only facilitates collaboration but also analyses market trends and spending patterns to identify areas for improvement, all aimed at maximizing performance and efficiency within the organization. The Category Manger will be supporting our global laboratories.
Some of your responsibilities will be:
- Facilitate and drive category council, engaging with key stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration.
- Lead regular meetings and workshops to advance category initiatives and strategic goals.
- Define and implement category strategies that align with business objectives.
- Conduct market and spend analysis to inform strategy development and identify opportunities for cost savings and quality improvements.
- Manage relationships with relevant local and regional suppliers, fostering strong partnerships and enhancing supplier performance.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience within Category Management or Procurement in a global organization.
- Proven ability to assess supplier performance with KPIs and proactively resolve issues while collaborating on improvements.
- Experience in developing tailored category strategies and identifying cost-saving opportunities aligned with organizational goals.
- Advanced research skills to analyse market trends and provide actionable insights to inform procurement strategies.
As a person, you are an effective communicator and a skilled negotiator, adept at building strong relationships with stakeholders. Your ability to present ideas clearly allows you to engage diverse audiences confidently. You excel in project management, ensuring that projects are executed on time and meet objectives. With strong data management and analytics skills, you can extract valuable insights to inform your decisions. Additionally, your fluency in English enhances collaboration with international teams.
About the Department
Corporate Procurement is anchored within Global Solutions area which reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Novo Nordisk. In addition, we build strategies and execute improvement projects to optimize the global indirect spend of DKK +50 billion related to, e.g., Facility Management, R&D activities, Marketing services, Travel, Professional Advisory Services, and IT.
