The position

As Category Manager, you will collaborate closely with the Logistics & Distribution Category Lead to ensure efficient and robust category management for our Primary logistics solutions worldwide, both in the short and long term. Your role extends to developing, validating, and distributing Sustainability & ESG data for Primary Distribution to key stakeholders.

Moreover, you contribute to generating market insights, identifying trends and dynamics, and addressing sourcing opportunities and risks within the category. Based in Denmark, you work closely with line of business on the agreements and tenders for our global external warehouses.

Some of your key activities include:

  • Engaging with our suppliers and stakeholders to secure supply robustness for Air/ Ocean freight
  • Collaborating with line of business on specification of statement of work for both existing and new requirements for tenders
  • Managing category fundamentals promptly and according to internal procedures, including contracting, supplier collaboration structures, and risk assessments
  • Working closely with projects that are looking into new processes, technologies, and new ways of sourcing, staying ahead of the curve
  • Contributing to supplier relations, budget, risk mitigation, and price/contract negotiations to secure the best commercial terms
  • Promoting category transparency by connecting projects and ideas across various fields like sustainability, data management, procure to pay, source to contract, etc.

As part of the team, you play a key role in coordinating and supporting environmental & sustainability communications with Corporate and CSDS communication partners, collaborating with internal Sustainability teams and external partners to implement end-to-end Sustainability strategy for Primary Distribution. In addition, you ensure timely conclusion of frame agreements within the category and to settle contracts within the corporate guidelines (i.e., Novo Nordisk Global signing rules).

As you will be working with suppliers and internal stakeholders internationally, you should expect 10 to 20 travel days per year.

 

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, we imagine you:

  • Hold a master’s degree or equivalent in supply chain, procurement, business, engineering, or a related field
  • Demonstrate proven experience in category management, strategic sourcing, eProcurement within an international organization or a consulting company
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of primary distribution channels and logistics, along with GDP and GXP requirements for Pharma logistics
  • Display a commitment to driving a sustainability-driven agenda for primary distribution
  • Showcase fluency in both written & spoken English

It would be considered as a strong advantage if you possess hands-on experience in business intelligence tools such as Power BI and Alteryx and proficiency in another European language.

As a person, you possess a strategic mindset and an ability to quickly grasp different business models and industry dynamics. You can put strategy into action by breaking the bigger picture down into specific supply chain related decisions. You are a skilled professional with a sharp analytical mindset, excellent organizational structure, a solid understanding of numbers, and a keen eye for detail. Finally, you enjoy working in a multicultural and high-pace environment, bring a ‘can-do attitude’, and a healthy sense of humor to your work even when under pressure.

 

About the department
StSo is the central sourcing unit in Novo Nordisk’s Product Supply division. We are responsible for ensuring that we have suppliers in place that can support Novo Nordisk’s worldwide pharmaceutical production. Through collaboration with our international suppliers, we ensure availability of the supply needed to develop and produce products that help millions of people around the world to live with chronic diseases.

You will be part of a diverse department that ensures a global supply of Distribution & Logistics, Energy & Utilities, and GxP Production supplies & services.
