This is a high-impact opportunity to shape Novo Nordisk’s global Professional Services categories and influence how value is created across a complex, international business. As Category Lead, you will define category direction, drive strategic choices, and deliver measurable business outcomes as Corporate Procurement accelerates a CFO-sponsored cost optimisation agenda.

 

You will turn market insight into clear category priorities, align senior stakeholders behind bold decisions, and build supplier partnerships that strengthen performance, resilience, and long-term value. For a category leader motivated by pace, complexity, and visible impact, this role offers a significant platform to shape outcomes.

 

Your new position

You will join our Professional Services & Travel team in Bagsvaerd, Copenhagen Area, Denmark, reporting to the Director of Professional Services & Travel. With end-to-end ownership of global categories within Professional Services, you will set direction, build enterprise alignment, and lead execution in close partnership with senior stakeholders, sourcing managers, and GBS colleagues.

Some of your responsibilities will be to:

  • Lead the opportunity assessments, business cases, development and continuous maturing of the Professional Services category strategies, ensuring it is aligned to business priorities and translated into clear opportunities, roadmaps and actions.
  • Act as a valuable procurement business partner for key stakeholders at senior levels, shaping decisions through insights, storytelling, and clear commercial recommendations.
  • Drive implementation and execution of the category strategy in close collaboration with local stakeholders, sourcing managers, and GBS colleagues – ensuring speed, adoption, and measurable results.
  • Scan the external market to identify best practice and new category opportunities and act as a subject matter expert and coach to build capability across Corporate Procurement.
  • Build/develop KPIs to track category and supplier performance, drive SRM with key partners to improve service levels, resilience, innovation and cost efficiency.

Corporate Procurement manages Novo Nordisk's global indirect spend of approximately 130 billion DKK. With around 150 employees in Denmark and more than 500 globally, we shape and execute procurement strategies that enable enterprise priorities and deliver value at scale.

Your skills & qualifications

  • Master’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of relevant experience in category management and/or strategic procurement, ideally gained in leading global companies operating in complex environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to define and execute category strategies that translate market insight into enterprise decisions, clear roadmaps, and measurable business results.
  • Understanding of market trends, competitive dynamics, and commercial models within Professional Services and overall indirect procurement is a clear advantage
  • Strong track record of building long-term partnerships and influencing decision-making with senior stakeholders in a global set-up.

 

You are commercially sharp, highly collaborative, and motivated by turning opportunity into results. You build credibility quickly, influence confidently across senior stakeholders, and combine structured thinking with the pace and resilience needed to lead in a complex global environment.

As well, you are fluent in both written and spoken English.

Salary:  For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 742,600.00 to 1,091,600.00 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position.

The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.

Incentives and Benefits: The salary package may include short-term and/or long-term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level,  location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.
