The position
As Category Lead, you will work closely with the Senior Category Lead and together be in charge of securing efficient and robust category management, both short- and long-term for our warehousing solutions, globally.
You will be based in Denmark and work closely with line of business on the agreements and tenders for our global external warehouses.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Engaging with our suppliers and stakeholders to secure supply robustness
- Collaborating with line of business on specification of statement of work for both existing and new requirements for the warehouse solutions
- Ensuring that category fundamentals, such as contracting, supplier collaboration structures and risk assessments are managed timely and according to internal procedures
- Working closely with projects that are looking into new processes, technologies, and new ways of sourcing to be ahead of the curve
- Jointly being responsible for supplier relations, budget, risk mitigation and price/contract negotiations to secure the best commercial terms
Your role also involves exploring and creating category transparency across the organization by connecting projects and ideas within different fields, including sustainability, data management, procure to pay, source to contract, etc
As you will be working with suppliers and internal stakeholders internationally, you should expect 10 to 20 travel days per year. This position holds ample opportunities for personal and professional development.
The current office location is Bagsværd; however, the department will be relocating to Taastrup in February 2025.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, we imagine you:
- Hold a master’s degree or equivalent in supply chain, procurement, business, engineering, or any other relevant field
- Possess hands-on experience in category management, strategic sourcing, buying, or similar obtained within an international organization or a consulting company
- Demonstrate strong knowledge about warehouses
- Showcase a structured approach, an analytical mind, and a sharp eye for the details
- Display fluency in both written and spoken English
On a personal level, you possess excellent communication skills and thrive on collaborating across the organization, skilfully navigating complex stakeholder landscapes. With a strategic mindset and the ability to swiftly understand diverse business models and industry dynamics, you approach work in a structured way, effectively translating strategy into actionable supply chain decisions. You have strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of numbers, with a keen attention to details. Furthermore, you are a collaborative team-player with an energetic, open-minded attitude, thriving in a dynamic, multicultural environment.
About the department
Strategic Sourcing Inbound Materials and Services is one of the central sourcing units in Novo Nordisk’s Product Supply division, responsible for short- medium- and long-term strategic sourcing activities, which involves global identification and strategic management of suppliers for Novo Nordisk’s worldwide pharmaceutical production sites.
You will be part of a diverse department that ensures global supply of Energy, Production Services, and Supplies such as Gowning, Waste Management, Sterilizations services, and other critical production materials and services. Joining our team, you will be surrounded by several experienced international Category Managers, allowing you to continue your development within the sourcing domain.
