The position
As the Category Lead, you will have full procurement responsibility globally of the Cluster of HR Services categories at Novo Nordisk. You will take lead in the Cluster and be responsible together with the Cluster team for setting the category strategies, driving the commercial agenda and leading procurement efforts for these categories. This role will provide you with the opportunity to work closely with senior and executive stakeholders, influence key business decisions and driving impactful outcomes.

In addition to the above, the job entails that you:

  • Set the strategic direction for the Cluster categories, uncover opportunities for improvement, create business cases needed for decision-making and develop a strong pipeline together with your stakeholders
  • Take lead in team development and achieving our goals, e.g. through coaching others, prioritizing resources and driving strategic initiatives
  • Manage strategic suppliers to ensure delivery of high-quality services while maintaining cost-effectiveness and ensure best practices for Novo Nordisk
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders, mainly within the large organization of Global People & Organization, to ensure internal customer satisfaction and procurement buy-in, become a trusted partner and manage internal complexity and stakeholder diversity 
  • Set up efficient sourcing processes to ensure compliance, drive savings and maximize value while keeping up with the organization’s fast-paced growth
  • Lead sourcing projects with responsive and timely execution with high quality and stakeholder satisfaction through a strong governance and clear roles and responsibilities

Qualifications
To be successful in this position, we expect you to have:

  • A master's degree in economics, business administration, procurement, supply chain management or similar
  • 6-8 years of experience within procurement, sourcing and category management
  • A strong procurement toolbox, with strong experience in strategic sourcing, managing strategic suppliers and senior stakeholders through a structured approach, and leading supplier negotiations
  • Great stakeholder management skills, you align with stakeholders proactively on scope, governance and roles & responsibilities
  • International mindset, work analytically, and communicate clearly in English 

 

On a personal level, you are ambitious, open to giving and receiving feedback, and you have strong willingness to learn and develop. 

 

About the department
Corporate Procurement is anchored in Global Solutions under our CFO, and is responsible for the indirect spend in Novo Nordisk. The department consists of 120 employees based in Denmark, 140 employees in India, and globally 500 people work in procurement.
