This is the opportunity to quantify the real-world value of sustainability, and to translate data into relevant strategic insights for both internal and external audiences.

 

Your new position

As Associate Sustainability Impact Valuation Director at Novo Nordisk, you will establish and lead a cross-sustainability programme to quantify the societal impacts of Novo Nordisk’s sustainability activities. In particular, you will:

  • Coordinate the production and publication of whitepapers that present methodological approaches, evidence and quantified findings on specific sustainability-related impacts and case studies.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement across functions (e.g., medical affairs, market access, public affairs) and with external experts to secure buy-in for methodology, data sources and outputs.
  • Develop consistent methodological principles, assumptions and quality standards that can be applied across impact areas to ensure comparability and robustness.
  • Design and implement data-driven valuation approaches to estimate value to society (e.g., health gains, avoided costs to health systems, societal wellbeing) and to business, including articulation of potential financial effects.
  • Translate technical results into clear materials for senior leaders, governance bodies and external audiences to inform strategy and public communication.
  • Ensure high standards for data governance, transparency and reproducibility of analyses; promote best-practice benchmarking and continuous improvement informed by emerging academic and industry advances.
  • Manage programme and project activities, timelines and resources to deliver high-quality outputs on schedule.

 

Your new department

The Sustainability Insights team is part of the Sustainability Strategy & Insights department, located in the CEO Office, Corporate Strategy & Sustainability area. The team is driving a broad range of sustainability related topics, all with the common purpose of translating sustainability data into insights that inform strategic decision-making, and to support on delivering on our sustainability roadmaps. Our work spans cross-functional collaboration with teams across the sustainability area and the whole company.

 

Your skills & qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A relevant master’s degree or higher (e.g., Economics, Health Economics, Public Health, Data Science, Environmental Science, Business Administration).
  • Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in measuring and communicating social or environmental impacts, impact valuation, outcomes research or related analytics roles; experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare sector is preferred.
  • Programme and project management experience, including planning multi-stakeholder initiatives, managing timelines and delivering publications or reports.
  • Proven stakeholder management and communication skills, including presenting complex technical findings to senior leaders and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with proven ability to produce clear, engaging whitepapers or reports that explain methodologies, findings and implications in a way that resonates with both specialist and non-specialist audiences.
  • Familiarity with risk and opportunity assessment and the ability to translate them into potential financial implications to Novo Nordisk is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and applying methodological frameworks for impact assessment, including setting consistent assumptions and handling uncertainty.
  • Strong analytical and data skills are preferred, including experience with quantitative methods, modelling, cost-effectiveness or value-of-impact analyses; comfort working with large and heterogeneous datasets.
