Are you passionate about shaping how Artificial Intelligence drives real business impact at scale? We are looking for an Associate Director of Digital Innovation & AI to lead the engineering development and rollout of AI solutions across Global Finance. In this role, you will combine strong software engineering leadership, hands-on technical depth and stakeholder collaboration to take AI use cases from idea to production and scale adoption across the organisation.

Your new role

As Associate Director of Digital Innovation & AI, you will be a key member of the Data & AI management team and responsible for technical delivery of the top FLGS AI projects. You will lead a diverse, international engineering team and own a portfolio of AI‑driven digital solutions with significant business impact across FLGS and Global Finance. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Owning end-to-end delivery of the FLGS AI solution portfolio - from discovery and prototyping to production deployment, scaling and continuous improvement
  • Managing and evolving a large portfolio of digital solutions serving more than 2,000 monthly users
  • Establishing strong engineering practices for AI products (architecture, code quality, testing, security, monitoring and incident management) to ensure reliable solutions for a large user base
  • Building strong collaboration models with Enterprise AI, Enterprise IT and key business stakeholders
  • Recruiting, developing and leading a high-performing of five team members, globally distributed team and partner setup

You will act as a strategic sparring partner to senior stakeholders, remove barriers to delivery, and ensure AI solutions are scalable, secure and aligned with business priorities.

We are looking for a person who can lead a software engineering team which closes the last mile be-tween our global user community and our enterprise solutions by successfully implementing solutions with deep AI capabilities to create value for the Global Novo Nordisk organisation.

Your new department

You will join Data & AI within Digital Finance & Architecture (DFA), a central function within FLGS focused on driving digital transformation, standardisation and innovation across Global Finance. The Digital Innovation & AI area is responsible for identifying, developing and scaling advanced digital and AI‑based solutions that improve efficiency, insights and decision‑making across finance, legal, compliance and procurement. The team operates globally and collaborates closely with process owners, Enterprise IT, Enterprise AI and external partners.

Your skills and qualifications

To succeed in this role, we expect that you bring:

  • Strong hands-on background in software engineering and AI product development (incl. LLM-based applications and agentic architectures), with the ability to lead architecture decisions and review complex technical designs across APIs, orchestration frameworks, cloud-native platforms and integrations with enterprise systems (e.g. SAP, Coupa)
  • Ability to ship solutions in complex enterprise environments by translating business needs into clear technical roadmaps and communicating trade-offs across stakeholders
  • Proven leadership experience, including people development, performance management and cross-cultural collaboration
  • A strategic mindset, high personal integrity and the ability to prioritise and deliver high-quality outcomes in a complex environment
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required
  • A Master’s degree in IT, Software Engineering, Finance, Economics or a related field
