Laboratory Technician for Chemical Operations in our Technical Pilot Facility

Your New Role

As a Laboratory Technician for Chemical Operations, you will become a key contributor to our technical non-GMP pilot facility in Bagsværd. Working at the intersection of chemical development and manufacturing, you will help transform newly developed processes into robust and scalable pilot-scale operations.

Our chemical suite has recently been established, giving you a unique opportunity to influence how the facility develops and operates in the years ahead. In the initial phase, you will play an important role in commissioning and bringing new chemical reactors into operation together with your colleagues.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning, preparing, and executing chemical modification processes in the pilot facility
• Implementing newly developed API manufacturing processes from development into pilot-scale production
• Supporting operation, troubleshooting, and optimisation of equipment and processes
• Ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with internal standards
• Contributing to the daily operation and continuous improvement of the pilot facility
  

You will work with a broad range of equipment, including chemical reactors and you will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and work with purification systems, filtration systems, and a spray dryer. As the facility continues to evolve, there will be opportunities to expand your responsibilities and broaden your technical expertise across additional processing technologies and utility systems.

This role offers a varied and dynamic workday where no two days are the same. While occasional staggered working hours may occur, activities are primarily planned within regular daytime hours.

Your New Department

You will join a team of approximately 12 highly engaged employees responsible for operating our new non-GMP technical pilot facility in Bagsværd and in Gentofte.

Our mission is to develop robust and reliable active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) processes for Novo Nordisk's entire portfolio of drug candidates. Through innovation, scientific expertise, quality, and operational excellence, we support the development of future treatments that improve patients' lives.

You will collaborate closely with technicians, laboratory technicians, process specialists, and chemists across multiple teams and functions. Together, we ensure timely API deliveries for non-clinical studies while continuously developing our technical capabilities and facility operations.

Your Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you are motivated by both practical execution and continuous improvement. You enjoy taking ownership, solving technical challenges, and working collaboratively with colleagues from different scientific disciplines.

We imagine that you:

• Hold an education as a Laboratory Technician, Process Technologist or similar technical qualification.
• Have hands-on experience with chemical modification processes at laboratory, pilot, or production scale
• Possess a solid theoretical understanding of chemical processes and operations
• Have an interest in process technology, equipment operation, and process control
• Communicate effectively in English and enjoy working in a collaborative environment
  

In addition, it will be considered an advantage if you have experience with:

• Filtration technologies such as UF/DF
• Utility systems, including process water, solvents, cooling systems, and waste handling
• Commissioning, operation, or maintenance of technical process equipment
  

As a person, you are independent, structured, and solution oriented. You enjoy taking initiative and following tasks through to completion, especially when implementing new processes or introducing equipment into operation for the first time.

Salary and Benefits: The Annual Base Salary ranges 499.600 to 734,400 DKK corresponding to the level of the position. The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience. ​

A competitive benefits package is offered, including a pension scheme (currently 13% employer contribution and 5% employee contribution) in accordance with the applicable Collective Agreement for Salaried Employees (Indutriens Funktionæroverenskomst or “IFO”). ​

Benefits package also include a free choice account of currently 10% and 4% holiday allowance.​
