The position
As our new HR/HSE specialist you will coordinate a wide range of HR administrative activities. This role will play a crucial part in supporting our documentation processes, recruitment & onboarding procedures, and maintaining seamless HR operations. You will also develop and implement health, safety, and environment policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards. This includes conducting risk assessments, delivering training programs, investigating incidents, and maintaining accurate records. You also will serve as the primary point of contact for HSE-related inquiries and coordinates with external agencies or authorities. The position is based in Kazakhstan (Almaty) and provides support to CEM (CA, CAU, Mongolia) countries.
Your key accountabilities will be:
- Coordinate talent attraction efforts by preparing business cases and welcome kits, and ensure a professional onboarding and offboarding experience for all new starters. Manage employee exits and internal transfers to support seamless transitions.
- Handle HR administrative processes, including the preparation of reference and guaranty letters, visa documentation, and other employee inquiries. Maintain accurate personnel records in SAP and ensure compliance during entry and exit procedures.
- Manage payroll-related tasks by maintaining up-to-date job descriptions, preparing salary data, and overseeing absence records. Collaborate with external payroll providers to ensure smooth and timely payroll operations.
- Develop and implement Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies, conduct risk assessments, and deliver related training. Act as the main contact for HSE matters and lead the company’s crisis response activities while promoting employee health and well-being.
- Support HR projects and personnel events while ensuring proper documentation in Kazakh, Russian, and English. Oversee document archiving practices, manage the HR intranet via SharePoint, coordinate with vendors, and align HR budget activities with Finance and Accounting.
Qualifications
As HR/HSE specialist you have to have the ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain a high level of professionalism. You have to be excellent in communication and interpersonal skills being comfortable working in a team as well as on your own.
To be effective in this role, it is an advantage to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or legal
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in HR support or administration, and in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) or Crisis Response and Management (CRT)
- Confidence with KZ (AZ and UZ if needed) Labor Code regulations, as well as with HR processes and procedures
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Fluent English
