The Position

As our new Medical Science Liaison (MSL), you will serve as a crucial link between our pharmaceutical company and healthcare professionals (HCPs), facilitating strategic communication and education initiatives to drive scientific engagement and advocacy. Your role will be instrumental in ensuring accurate medical information dissemination, fostering strong relationships, and promoting comprehensive understanding of medical landscapes and product intricacies. The position is based in Nigeria, Abuja.


As a Medical Science Liaison your responsibilities will be:

  • to undertake a field-based role to actively foster scientific engagement with healthcare professionals (HCPs) and healthcare organizations (HCOs), encompassing stakeholder mapping, HCP/HCO engagement and interaction, as well as scientific advocacy.
  • to play a crucial role in implementing the medical strategy, focusing on diabetes and Novo Nordisk (NN) registered products for diabetes and Rare Diseases. This will involve organizing scientific events, providing medical information, and promptly responding to medical inquiries.
  • to establish and maintain strong relationships with HCPs and HCOs, delivering essential medical education through face-to-face interactions, scientific meetings, symposia, and supporting pre-launch, launch and post-launch activities, including advisory boards and congress participation.
  • to provide valuable medical guidance to internal stakeholders, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of disease landscapes and product intricacies for effective training and support.
  • to actively contribute to scientific communication efforts, disseminating relevant medical information, and promoting awareness of Novo Nordisk's portfolio among key stakeholders, thereby driving scientific engagement and advocacy.

 

Qualifications

You are our ideal candidate if:

  • You are a Medical Doctor.
  • You have 3-5 years’ experience in similar position.
  • You have ability to adapt to changing business environment and introduce innovative approaches.
  • You have a problem-solving and analytical skills to evaluate knowledge capacity gaps and design tools and methodologies to bridge the gaps
  • You have good IT skills with use of MS office, organized and good planner
  • Are fluent in written and spoken English.
  • You have at least 1 year experience in pharma industry
  • You could collaborate across teams, possess a business-oriented mindset, and are adept at fostering teamwork.

 

About the Department

Novo Nordisk Middle Africa, which the English West Africa (Ghana and Nigeria) Business Unit is affiliated with, was formed in early 2012. Novo Nordisk has an established presence with human and modern insulins in Africa and our focus today is to sustain the growth of the market, ensure the availability of better-quality modern portfolio within the markets and support the communities living with diabetes. As an MSL, you will represent company vision, values, commitments in daily conduct. You will provide medical information and services to internal and external stakeholders. Geographical scope of the role covers Nigeria and Ghana. This role reports to Medical Advisor and Medical Manager.
