About the department

In Biostatistics we work with several kinds of biological data from our clinical trials. We are responsible for statistical and programming expertise in the development and evaluation of Novo Nordisk drug candidates. We are a dynamic and experienced organisation with stakeholders in many different countries.

You will be part of our office in Aalborg where we are 65 people working on Novo Nordisk product portfolio, but you will also be part of a global team of around 300 statisticians and statistical programmer in our clinical development organisation.

The professional background of employees in the Biostatistics departments is diverse. The statisticians often have a M.Sc. or Ph.D. in statistics or mathematics, and the statistical programmers often have qualifications such as a M.Sc. or Ph.D. in natural science or IT. 

 

The position

As a scientific student assistant in Biostatistics, you will provide ad-hoc support to the department. Your tasks will vary widely and can include programming, visualisation, and presentation of scientific data, or you might contribute to testing and validation of developed codes or programs. You could also take part in analysing and creating important listings, figures, and tables, which is a key deliverable from the department of Biostatistics in our exciting clinical trials. 

It might also be quality control and cross checking of data, quality checking presentations created for stakeholders and management as well as administrative work. The position is part-time, and can be up to 20 hours a week, with flexibility to allow prioritising your exams and assignments as needed.

 

Qualifications

You are currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a related subject, such as Statistics, Math, or a Natural Science.

  • Having attention to details and solid analytical and programming skills (e.g., R, SAS, Python, SQL)
  • Able to plan and organise your tasks and to work both independently and in teams
  • Strive to take ownership of your own tasks and learning with responsibility and bringing strong working ethics
  • Keen to work with people and understand your stakeholder perspective
  • Bringing positive and can-do attitude when approaching new tasks and interacting with colleagues

Fluency in both speaking and writing English is required.
