The Position
As Payroll Specialist, with due recognition of the Novo Nordisk vision, values, and policies, and in accordance with Novo Nordisk Türkiye’s strategies and business objectives, the execution of end-to-end payroll operations for 4 different units in Türkiye (Novo Nordisk Local office, Regional Office (Istanbul Hub), Business Area Middle East & Central Asia, and Business Area Africa) must be occured within specific deadlines, both internally (local and governmental) and globally, as per country-specific regulations. You must comply with Novo Nordisk principles as well as local legislation and regulations to defend the company's interests. Furthermore, as a requirement of business ethics, you must protect the confidentiality of company secrets, as well as patient information, business plans, ideas, and strategies against third parties.
The assigned responsibilities related to this position require and flexible working hours, as activities are executed based on the stakeholders’ and company’s times, and meeting timelines.
Key accountabilities
- Perform payroll activities including:
- Maintaining all changes throughout the month to keep payroll data updated.
- Preparing scorecards and controlling the final payroll calculations.
- Preparing and uploading all types of salary-related payments (payroll, off-cycle payments, sales and office incentives, and spot payments) through the banking system.
- Sharing the accounting reports with the Payroll Accounting Team.
- Ensuring that all payroll entries are accurately reflected in the general ledger.
- Conducting regular audits of payroll processes to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure that payroll processes are continuously updated by tracking changes in labour laws and financial regulations and implement necessary compliance measures.
- Act as the primary liaison with local authorities, including the Social Security Institution, Turkish Employment Agency, and partially tax authorities.
- Develop and implement payroll policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy
Qualifications
You hold a Bachelor’s degree in related fields with at least 5 years of relevant payroll experience (including HR Services or a payroll role in consulting companies). Having worked at a complex multinational organization will be an additional asset. If you have a master’s degree or MBA this would be considered as a plus. You should have excellent command over both written and spoken Turkish and English. Moreover, we expect
