Your new role

As our new Senior Director, Commercial Business Area South&Wes (Sr Director, Commercial BA S&W), you will play a pivotal role in defining, implementing, and accelerating commercial priorities across the South & West Business Area. You will work closely with the Corporate Vice President (CVP) and the regional Leadership Team (LT) to ensure commercial excellence, strategic alignment, and effective execution across markets.

You will act as a trusted strategic partner to senior leadership, ensuring that insights, analyses, and recommendations support data-driven decision making and sustainable business growth.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and driving strategic commercial projects and initiatives across the South & West Business Area in alignment with the regional strategy.
  • Preparing and coordinating high-quality decision materials, presentations, and commercial analyses for internal and external meetings on behalf of the SVP and Leadership Team.
  • Supporting the LT in project management, governance, performance monitoring, and business transformation activities.
  • Designing and driving Leadership Team agendas, ensuring focus, alignment, and strong follow-through on decisions.
  • Engaging with stakeholders across affiliates and regional functions to understand market needs, opportunities, challenges, and capability gaps.
  • Ensuring consistent implementation of commercial frameworks, standards, and business processes across the Business Area.

You will play a central role in ensuring cross-market alignment, enabling commercial readiness, and driving business performance across a dynamic and diverse region.

 

Your new department

You will join a high-performing and ambitious team in the Executive Office, Corporate Affairs, supporting the South & West Business Area within Region EUCAN.

The Executive Office works as a strategic “Swiss army knife,” accelerating cross-functional projects, enabling senior leadership excellence, and strengthening organisational alignment. We work in close collaboration with Communications, Insights & Analytics, and other Corporate Affairs teams to create an environment built on curiosity, innovation, and strong collaboration.

 

Your skills and qualifications

To succeed in this role, we expect you to:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Management, or a related field.
  • Bring substantial commercial leadership experience within the pharmaceutical industry or a similar highly regulated sector; consultancy experience is an advantage.
  • Demonstrate strong process and project management skills, with the ability to navigate high complexity and manage multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously.
  • Have experience working in international or cross-market settings within global, regional, or affiliate organisations.
  • Possess a deep understanding of value chains, competitive landscapes, and market dynamics in pharma or similar industries.
  • Communicate clearly, concisely, and convincingly in both written and spoken English.
  • Demonstrate high business acumen, the ability to simplify complexity, and strong stakeholder management skills.
