Do you have a passion for impactful communication and strategic storytelling? If this sounds like you, read on and apply today.

Your new role

We are looking for an External Affairs Manager to play a central role in strengthening Novo Nordisk Denmark’s external voice across media, policymakers, and society. This position is ideal for a communications professional with a strong commercial, strategic, and insight driven background, preferably within the healthcare sector.

With more than 5 years of experience in commercial strategy and insight-based decision making, you will bring a valuable perspective to how we communicate in a rapidly changing healthcare environment in Denmark. As Novo Nordisk shifts from being a diabetes focused company to leading across the broader cardiometabolic disease spectrum, your strategic understanding of these trends will help shape narratives that resonate with people living with chronic diseases, healthcare professionals, partners, and political stakeholders.

You will be part of the Market Access and Public Affairs team, and the primary work tasks will be:

  • Developing and executing proactive media strategies. Managing media relations, interviews, press briefings, and preparing spokespeople.
  • Creating clear, compliant external communication including press releases, op-eds, statements, and social media content. Monitoring political and healthcare developments, drafting position papers, and supporting key public affairs initiatives.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with journalists, industry groups, patient organisations, and other external stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with commercial, market access, and medical teams to ensure alignment of messages across channels. Reputational risks and supporting crisis communication activities.
  • Tracking media coverage, analysing public sentiment, and reporting insights to refine communication strategies.

Your skills and qualifications

We’re seeking candidates who fulfil the following prerequisites

  • Strong writing, messaging, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in media relations and external communications.
  • Understanding of healthcare, policy movements, or the broader public policy environment.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and work under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Experience with stakeholder engagement, public affairs, or advocacy activities.
  • Familiarity with compliance, risk management, and communication governance.
  • Background in public relations, corporate affairs, government relations, or healthcare communications.
  • Experience in pharma, diagnostics, the Danish healthcare sector or outside pharma

As a person, you work in a structured and organised way. Communicate clearly and confidently with various stakeholders. Have strong analytical capabilities and can translate insights into communication strategies. Thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, and evolving environment.
