What is this about?
As the Director of Commercial Data and Analytics, you will lead the transformation of Sales and Marketing processes through data-driven strategies, innovative analytics solutions, and advanced technologies like AI and machine learning. This role requires a blend of strategic vision, technical expertise, and leadership to drive measurable impact on global commercial operations and cus-tomer engagement.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and oversee scalable data platforms and data products, integrating diverse data sources (e.g., market data, customer insights, real-world evidence, patient) to enhance decision-making and optimize marketing ROI, field force effectiveness, and customer en-gagement.
  • Leverage advanced analytics, AI, and machine learning technologies to deliver innovative solutions that drive commercial success and support targeted campaigns and customer relationship management (CRM).
  • Ensure compliance with global regulatory standards and implement data governance frameworks to maintain data quality, security, and ethical use.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, IT, and Commercial Operations, to identify business opportunities and deliver actionable insights.
  • Build and lead a high-performing, distributed team of data engineers, analysts, and prod-uct managers, fostering a culture of innovation, inclusivity, and professional growth.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders and external technology providers to scale operations and integrate new tools, ensuring interoperability across systems and processes.
  • Drive measurable impact by delivering projects on time and within budget, demonstrat-ing the value of data-driven initiatives in achieving business outcomes and customer en-gagement goals.

 

Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • A Master’s or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, AI, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in data and analytics leadership, with at least 7 years in life sci-ences or pharmaceuticals (Sales and Marketing or Patient services).
  • Proven track record of driving commercial success using data and analytics in regulated industries.
  • Expertise in advanced analytics technologies, CRM systems, and customer data man-agement.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience leading cross-functional and distributed teams.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, EMA, HIPAA).
  • Experience in managing cloud-based data platforms, data lakes, and marketing analytics tools.
  • Business acumen and the ability to translate data insights into measurable business im-pact.
