Your new role
As Associate Medical Director for Cardiovascular Disease (CVD), you act as a key contributor to shaping and executing regional medical strategy, while ensuring alignment with global and corporate objectives.In this role, you will work across a complex, matrixed organisation, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver impactful medical outcomes and strengthen Novo Nordisk’s position within CVD.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Driving the development and execution of CVD medical strategy across Region EUCAN, ensuring alignment with corporate and regional priorities
- Leading medical launch excellence in key markets, optimising scientific impact and supporting successful market entry
- Acting as a strategic partner representing medical within cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment and collaborative spirit with commercial, access, pricing and regulatory affairs
- Representing Region EUCAN in global and international medical fora, providing insights and influencing strategic direction
- Building strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including KOLs, and acting as a subject matter expert within CVD
- Beyond execution, you will also play a leadership role in fostering collaboration across affiliates, driving best practice sharing, and supporting the development of medical capabilities across the region.
Your new department
Based in Denmark, you will join the CVD Medical & Marketing team within Region EUCAN, covering Europe and Canada. This team plays a critical role in shaping medical strategies and enabling successful launches across multiple markets.
Working in a highly collaborative and international environment, the team partners closely with regional and global stakeholders to ensure strong alignment, knowledge sharing, and execution of medical priorities. You will contribute to strengthening the region’s medical leadership and ensuring impactful patient outcomes across a diverse geographic footprint.
Your skills and qualifications
We are looking for a strategic and collaborative medical affairs expert who thrives in a complex, matrix environment and is passionate about advancing patient care in cardiovascular disease.
To succeed in this role, you should bring:
- An advanced scientific degree (MD, PhD or MSc) in a relevant field, combined with strong medical affairs expertise
- Significant experience within medical affairs gained from the pharmaceutical industry, with proven ability to drive strategic initiatives and deliver results.
- Experience in product launches is required. Previous experience in new market entry/ therapy area development is desirable
- Ability to act as a subject matter expert within and specialty therapy area. Knowledge and / or experience in cardiovascular disease is an advantage
- Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills, with the ability to influence across functions and geographies. Previous experience across different layers of the organization is an advantage.
- Fluent English
You have proactive mindset with excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate scientific insights into strategic actions You bring a strong sense of ownership, adaptability, and a commitment to driving innovation and continuous improvement.

- Salary: For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 847,000 to 1,245,100 DKK (DK), corresponding to the level of the position.
The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience. - Incentives and Benefits: The salary package may include short-term and/or long-term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level, location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.
