Associate Director, Commercial Obesity (Region EUCAN)

As Associate Commercial Obesity Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the obesity strategy across EUCAN markets, enabling sustainable growth and strong brand differentiation. This is a unique opportunity to influence regional strategy and collaborate closely with global and local stakeholders in a high‑impact role.

 

 

Your new role

In this regional role, you will be responsible for leading and enabling the successful execution of the obesity commercial strategy across EUCAN markets. You will work cross‑functionally to drive growth, optimise performance and ensure strong brand positioning across the obesity portfolio.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Driving the implementation of the regional obesity strategy and acting as a strategic champion for the business across the region
  • Enabling sustainable business growth by identifying opportunities, monitoring market trends and ensuring alignment with overall commercial objectives
  • Leading commercial planning, brand building and launch excellence with clear differentiation across the obesity portfolio
  • Supporting reporting processes, challenging affiliate target setting and maximising return on investment through data‑driven insights
  • Collaborating closely with EUCAN affiliates, Global, IOSO and cross‑functional regional teams to activate best practices and regional strategies

 

Your new department

The role will be based in Copenhagen, Denmark, and will report directly to the Senior Director of Cardiometabolic Marketing in Region EUCAN.
Region EUCAN is a region in International Operations covering 40 countries and employing around 5.000 people. The Cardiometabolic Marketing team is a very dynamic unit (part of the Marketing, Medical & Regulatory unit) combining commercial strategy development as well as frontline excellence and execution. Access to innovation and better care for patients across Region EUCAN is critical for the entire portfolio. Your skills and qualifications

To succeed in this role, you bring strong commercial expertise combined with strategic thinking and stakeholder influence.

We expect you to have:

  • A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field
  • 5–10 years of experience in with commercial strategy, marketing, and/or commercial execution and operations within the pharmaceutical industry or consumer health industry. Previous experience in obesity or cardiometabolic area is an advantage.
  • Proven experience in leading cross‑functional teams and working with senior professionals and first‑line managers. Experience at different levels of the organization (affiliate – region – global) would be a plus.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience in brand management, launches and performance optimisation
  • Excellent communication, analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels

  • Salary: For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 847,000 to 1,245,100 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position.
    The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.
  • Incentives and Benefits: The salary package may include short‑term and/or long‑term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level, location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.
