The position

As Novo Nordisk embarks on an exciting transformation and journey as a company, we are developing a new capability in Global Development’s Data Science organization to bring novel, data-driven approaches for due diligence and integrations (DS DDI) activities. The Data Science Project Integration Lead will serve as the critical leader by shaping data science support for our strategic acquisitions. This role will require coordination across Novo Nordisk’s Development organizations as well as our Data Science organizational functions -- Biostatistics, Clinical Data operations & Insights (CDOI), Pharmacometrics, Data Orchestration, and Artificial Intelligence and Analytics (AIA) teams.

 

As a Data Science Project Integration Lead at Novo Nordisk, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Collaborate with the acquired Data Science team to understand their current methodologies, tools, and processes. Facilitate seamless integration of the acquired Data Science function with our existing CDM, Biostatistics, and PMx teams. Identify opportunities for leveraging the acquired Data Science capabilities to enhance existing clinical development efforts.
  • Coordinate data management efforts with data management integrations lead to ensure data quality, integration, compliance, and accessibility
  • Coordinate with the external affairs outsourcing team and functional integration leads for resource planning and determining the optimal operational in/outsourcing model to support studies from acquisitions
  • Work closely with the Data Leads to hand off the integration activity to the Global Product Team (GPT). Ensure a smooth transition while coordinating with all major stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with DD&IT team to build frameworks for data integrations and ingestion of data from acquired opportunities in a timely manner
  • Lead the development of a comprehensive integration strategy for clinical systems, processes, and people, with a focus on Data Science functions.
  • Identify and mitigate risks in processes, people, technologies while integrating clinical trials and assets
  • Proactively communicate integration progress and challenges to stakeholders across the organization. Implement robust performance metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of integration support and drive continuous improvement.

The position will have multiple touchpoints with multiple stakeholders including Data Science, DD&IT, DEI teams located globally, primarily working with stakeholders in the US and Denmark.

 

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, we are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

 

  • An advanced degree (Masters or PhD degree) in a relevant area of life sciences (biostatistics, pharmacometrics, BIO IT, clinical data operations and/or data management preferred)
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience in any of the following: Life sciences M&A integration, biostatistics, statistical analysis, data management, statistical programming, interpretation and reporting of statistical results of clinical trials, and pharmacometrics or exceptional core project management in supporting clinical trials
  • Good understanding of clinical systems, technologies and processes to be able to make integration plans and suggestions for data science activities
  • Proven track record of successfully leading complex integration projects within the biopharma industry (preferred)
  • Ability to assess technical and organizational compatibility between acquired and existing systems and processes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a dynamic, cross-functional team
  • Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal, enabling the clear conveyance of complex findings
  • Comfort with turning around deliverables with time-sensitive deadlines and quick turnarounds. Able to work in multiple time zones as needed.

The position will be primarily based in Søborg, Denmark.
