The position

As (Senior) Operations Manager, your overall objective is to ensure stable and reliable planning, production, and release of products to our patients and customers.

You will oversee the entire operation of one or more Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs), working to enhance collaboration, ensure adequate capacities and establish priorities in close collaboration with our Supply Chain, Quality, Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT) and Global Strategic Outsourcing departments.
You will engage with a wide range of stakeholders, both within Novo Nordisk and at our CMOs.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Planning for and overseeing production at the CMOs
  • Handling of deviations, change requests and other relevant tasks promptly to facilitate smooth product release
  • Reporting and improving key performance indicators (KPIs) for the CMOs
  • Driving or participating in Life cycle Management projects

Qualifications
To succeed in this position, we imagine you:

  • Hold a master’s degree in engineering, chemistry, pharmacy or any other relevant field
  • Have been working either with or at a CMO
  • Are familiar with cGMP requirements
  • Possess minimum four years of experience within a regulated industry such as food, chemical, pharmaceutical, working with quality requirements in a production/quality control environment
  • Are fluent in English, both written and spoken

As a person with informal leadership skills and the ability to facilitate work cross-functionally, you bring a strong quality mind-set and solid analytical skills to the table. You can build relationships through trust and transparency and are able to communicate across cultures. You enjoy working proactively in a dynamic environment, with many tasks to coordinate and execute, with changing priorities and strict deadlines. Finally, you possess good communication skills and a structured approach which allow you to gain commitment from both internal and external stakeholders.


About the department

Global Contract Manufacturing Drug Substance (DS) Operations is responsible for the global network of DS CMOs in Novo Nordisk. We are currently handling 18 CMOs in operation, and the number is expected to grow heavily in the coming years. We are responsible for the daily operations, capacity utilisation, deliveries to downstream customers and for ensuring that the quality meets standards. Together with our stakeholders we set the direction for future collaboration with the CMOs in terms of capacity build up, supply chain strategies, collaboration models and quality oversight.
