Senior Scientist for Structure and Interactions Department

Category:  Research
Location:

Måløv, Capital Region of Denmark, DK

Are you an enthusiastic and talented scientist experienced in the analysis and characterization of protein interactions? Would you like to be part of a multidisciplinary and innovative department contributing to the development of life-changing therapies? Apply today and become part of Novo Nordisk's mission to improve lives through innovative pharmaceutical solutions!

The position
As a Senior Scientist you will support the discovery and development of novel therapeutic agents by designing, conducting and analyzing experiments to characterize protein-protein and protein-ligand interactions using state-of-the-art techniques. You will spend a significant part of your time in the lab, but you will also communicate and collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams. You will use your expertise within protein interaction characterization to support the development of high-throughput screening assays for identifying drug candidates and contribute to the implementation of new methodologies and technologies for protein interaction analysis.

The working environment in Global Research Technologies is dynamic and innovative and involves collaborations with colleagues from global research sites, fostering a strong scientific network. You will have the opportunity to work on and influence research projects that ultimately will make a difference for patients with unmet medical needs.

Qualifications
To thrive and succeed in this role, we expect you to have:

  • Ph.D./Postdoc in protein biochemistry, biophysics, or a related field with a focus on protein interaction characterization.
  • Demonstrated expertise in characterizing protein interactions using techniques such as surface plasmon resonance (SPR), fluorescence-based assays or isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC).
  • An understanding and/or background in structural biology to integrate interaction data with structural insights would be advantageous.
  • Flair for IT and experience with relevant computational tools for modelling and visualization.
  • Excellent communication skills.

The position requires a curiosity-driven mindset combined with the ability to take initiative and utilize synergies beyond areas of own expertise. You have a proactive personality with a positive attitude towards new ideas, people and challenges. You are a strong team player, who can form and keep relationships with internal and external partners, and a colleague whose enthusiasm for science and success will inspire those around you.

About the department
Structure & Interactions is part of Global Research Technologies at Novo Nordisk located in Måløv, Denmark. We are a team of 16 skilled and supportive laboratory technicians and scientists. Our department plays a key role in identifying, optimizing, and characterizing new drug candidates in research projects across all therapy areas. We help projects to select the most suitable drug candidate for further development by giving them a holistic insight into how our molecules and their interaction partners are connected in structure and function. As experts, we are enthusiastic about overcoming scientific and technical challenges through collaborative work. Our high-performing, multidisciplinary teams consist of people from different backgrounds and nationalities, and we use English as our working and social language.
