The position

As Business Support Director, you will be responsible for setting direction and driving cross-departmental activities to support key areas within the unit as well as for the Management team of DMD. Innovation is a strategic focus area in DMD, and you will therefore contribute to establish the innovative roadmap across our organisation.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Leading and inspiring your direct reports according to the Novo Nordisk Way, ensuring high engagement and high performance in accordance with all relevant Novo Nordisk standards
  • Setting direction for the department through clearly communicated vision, goals and performance expectations, ensuring a good working environment focusing on motivating and coaching the individual employee in their daily work
  • Planning, preparing, challenging, and executing business processes to ensure high quality deliveries of Business Reviews, Business Plan and other supporting strategic initiatives
  • Contributing as a member of DMD Management and aligning with Devices & Supply chain management/Product Supply strategic direction and guidance on the strategic agenda
  • Owning, driving and supporting various projects, mainly internally in DMD to support the operation and management of DMD’s core business

The position reports to the CVP of DMD. An essential part of the position will be to provide sparring, support and perspectives on various tasks related to business challenges, ad hoc analyses, and dilemmas. There should be a strong focus on storyline, red thread, layout, key messages and clear conclusions/recommendations so that the purpose is clear. As a part of the role you will enter a Business Support community together with the other highly dedicated and competent Business Support Managers in Contract manufacturing, Sourcing & Devices (CSD)

 

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, we expect you to:

  • Hold a Master degree in a relevant field
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in leadership
  • Possess a background in support function (such as finance, strategy, business process, production support or project management)
  • Be familiar with the pharmaceutical or medical devices industry
  • Be fluent in English, both written and spoken

It would be considered as an advantage if you have a previous experience with expansion or supporting projects.

Device Manufacturing Development (DMD) is a project focused organisation comprised of around 600 dedicated employees striving to be the best manufacturing development partner of medical devices. Our dedication is to build superior quality into our device products and processes. Our challenge is to execute an increasing portfolio of diverse projects in a complex, international and highly regulated area.

DMD Business Support is a support function which consists of a diverse group handling everything from finance, project portfolio management, strategy, business development, training, digitalisation, cLEAN® and Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS). The department plays a key role in fostering an innovative culture across the organisation, in increasing innovation capabilities and ensuring utilisation of Design Thinking, Agile and cLEAN® methodologies to change our way of working. Furthermore, the team is and must be working in a highly flexible manner and be able to shift its focus based on rapidly changing opportunities.
