The Position

Support & improve all facility maintenance efforts including preventive/predictive maintenance efforts, repairs, troubleshooting & new equipment installation. Execute & improve preventative & predictive maintenance for facilities & utility equipment. Support & participate in plant shutdown activities for facilities & utility equipment & participate in systematic problem solving.

Essential Functions

  • Support Root Cause Analysis using Systematic Problem Solving (SPS) tools such as 3C/A3
  • Perform corrective & preventative maintenance on systems & equipment
  • Operate, monitor & control equipment, systems & processes as assigned
  • Review SOPs & PMs documentation & others as required
  • Support & implementation of System/Equipment reliability improvement projects
  • Support training of other Facilities Maintenance Technicians in areas of expertise & aggressively learn systems & equipment outside of own expertise
  • Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
  • Participate in plant Shutdown planning & execution
  • Assure that all Maintenance activities are documented in SAP & communicated in the shift turnover reports
  • Actively use the Daily Standard Work Tool to account for the day-to-day activities
  • Other accountabilities, as assigned

 

Physical Requirements

Moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. Routinely operates & inspects manufacturing equipment using hands. Ability to be on feet for up to a 12-hour shift. May require corrected vision to 20/25 based on role. May require color vision based on role. Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder. May be required to work at elevated heights. Occasionally works around odorous &/or hazardous materials. May be required to wear latex gloves. Occasionally performs critical job functions in extremely cold work environments. Occasionally positions oneself within confined spaces for inspection, repair & maintenance of equipment. Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection. Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions. Able to pass a driving exam for powered industrial trucks. Does not require a valid drivers license.

 

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in relevant field of study from an accredited University required
  • May consider a high school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of seven years of utilities-related work experience required, preferably in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of two (2) years of utilities-related work experience required, preferably in pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
  • Knowledgeable in the following systems: Refrigeration Systems, Compressed Air, HVAC Systems, High Pressure/Low Pressure Steam, Clean/Purified Steam, WFI Systems, RO/WFI Pre-treatment, Chill Water Systems, BMS (Building Management System) & Instrumentation & Electrical systems preferred
  • Ability & experience with automated records systems such as SAP, schematics, wiring diagrams & other engendered documentations preferred
