About the department
Insulin Marketing Department is in charge for developing and executing marketing strategies for insulin products. This team consists of highly driven people who are passionate about changing diabetes and in close collaboration with other internal stakeholders. Provide input and get feedback from Diabetes BU sales to operate our strategy and tactics. Demonstrate sensitivity to the various priorities and strategic objectives of different stakeholders, showing flexibility to accommodate business requirements.
 
The position 
This Senior Manager/Director for Brand Marketing will create strong, impactful, measurable, and globally aligned marketing strategies and execution tactics to deliver the Insulin business and total Diabetes business, ensuring both short and long-term success in the market and aiming to become a leader in the industry. Additionally, you are to serve as a right-hand person for the Insulin Marketing Senior Director, aligning and negotiating with key stakeholders in Global/International Operations to understand Japan's needs and finalize the Marketing Strategy, including the new product launch strategy. You will collaborate with Global/International Operations on various committees representing the Japan Region and work with the Marketing Senior Director to develop and retain a team of high-performing marketers, ensuring Novo Nordisk Japan marketing excellence in the future. Other role expectations are as follows:

  • Working collaboratively with Marketing Management, develop short and long-term marketing strategies for not only the Insulin business but also the Diabetes Business Portfolio. Create strong, impactful, measurable, and globally aligned marketing strategies and execution tactics to ensure the success of both the Insulin business and the total Diabetes business in the market, aiming to become a leader in the industry.
  • Lead presentations of the product to enhance the brand and boost sales. Specifically, oversee the entire commercial planning process, including the delivery of launch action plans and the development of affiliate brand strategies. Take charge of managing overall commercial activities, brand cycles, and financial planning for brand management. Additionally, collaborate with external/internal and global/local stakeholders to ensure smooth commercial planning and execution.
  • Drive and maximize the execution of marketing strategies. Ensure flawless execution of the marketing strategy by providing excellent liaison and leadership to the salesforce. Lead the implementation and execution of marketing strategy and tactics.
  • Lead the development and tracking of the Marketing Strategy for the Diabetes Business. Collaborate with the DBU Management team, Marketing Team, Finance Team, and BICE Team to monitor the respective Marketing Strategy. Ensure the strategy progresses smoothly and revise it based on tracking results. Analyze marketing initiatives to identify those contributing to business success. Share updates of business tracking with key stakeholders, including the Sales Team.
  • When necessary, conduct market research to capture market trends and competitor activities, and incorporate the findings into the business strategy.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of marketing experience (exp.  brand managing, new product launching, brand planning) is required.
  • Experience in team/project management is required (people management is preferred).
  • Industry experience in pharmaceutical is preferred.
  • Fluency in both Japanese and English (speaking, reading, and writing) is mandatory.
