About the Department

 

You will be part of our Sales & Marketing department, that consists of the Sales Team, Marketing Communications, Strategic Marketing, Customer Support and Commercial Excellence. We are embarking on an exciting growth journey, delivering unique products in a global environment & with +300 Customers worldwide. The product portfolio is a mix of existing and upcoming products, and we work in a B2B environment, where many of our customers are large pharmaceutical and biopharma companies. You will be based in the Sales Team, who both work on reoccurring business and new opportunities, you will mainly focus on developing new opportunities together with the Account Managers. The Sales Managers works out of 6 different countries, and the rest of Sales & Marketing works in Køge, Denmark.

This is a field based role.  This role can reside anywhere in the U.S.

 

The Position

The Field Application Specialist (FAS) is an important new role in the Sales team of Novo Nordisk Pharmatech (Selling Technical Insulin to BioPharma companies). The FAS will act together with our US Sales representatives helping to build a closer relation to our customers and help us launch new enzymatic products in the market in coming years.

 

Relationships

Reports to Head of Global Sales in Novo Nordisk Pharmatech Denmark. Close collaboration with US Sales Representative, Strategic Marketing and Global Sales dept. Interacts with customers of Novo Nordisk Pharmatech.

 

Essential Functions

  • Build and develop relations to external stakeholders across the value chain, including R&D, Manufacturing and Quality
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations to customers
  • Provide scientific and technical support and troubleshooting to customers
  • Support upcoming product launches with customer beta testing and building of an opportunity pipeline
  • Engage with customer leads on develop new potential customers
  • Be part of Account teams and jointly progress opportunities with sales managers
  • Collaborate with the rest of the Sales Team, on managing after sales with existing customers
  • Supporting Product Management around product application projects
  • Feedback market insights on pricing, competition and marketing opportunities to the Marketing team
  • Close collaboration with R&D and the rest of the S&M team

 

Physical Requirements

Approximately 30% overnight travel, driver’s license.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors required, MSc or PhD in Biology, cell biology or similar preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience, preferably in a commercial function or similar position in a Pharma/Pharma tech company
  • 5+ years’ experience with cell culture media and bioprocessing, possible lab experience
  • As a customer facing profile, high integrity
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting
  • Ability to analyze and solve challenges

 

The base compensation range for this position is $98,820 to $150,000. Base compensation is determined based on a number of factors. This position is also eligible for a company bonus based on individual and company performance.  
 
Novo Nordisk offers long-term incentive compensation and or company vehicles depending on the position's level or other company factors.
