Cloud DevOps Engineers for Cloud Platform team in China (AWS and Azure)

Novo Nordisk is establishing a Cloud infrastructure team in Region China to further strengthen the digital transformation and growth by means of cloud in our Chinese business units.

In our department, Cloud and Corporate infrastructure (C&CI), we have successfully established an effective, secure, and compliant cloud infrastructure globally and now we wish to strengthen our local offerings in Region China. We have a combined strategic focus on enabling our business to innovate while ensuring stable operations. We are looking for three new colleagues to help our Novo Nordisk research sites, our offices and Digital heath area in Region China to develop, test, operate and manage cloud solutions. You will help build a modern, automated, secure, and compliant cloud infrastructure in AWS and Azure and bring it to live for our businesses. 
 
The Position
Our three new Cloud DevOps engineers become part of a newly established Cloud APAC team. The team will cover both AWS and Azure cloud infrastrcuture and will be responsible for architecting, developing, improving, and operating our AWS and Azure cloud landing zones in Region China. 
You will help provide support to Novo Nordisk business units in Region China who have workloads in the AWS or Azure platforms already or who wish to start their cloud journey. The team is responsible for ensuring a stable and efficient operational set-up with automated deployment, test, validation and monitoring.
 
The overall responsibility of the new Cloud team is:
•    Developing and operating the China Landing zones for Azure and AWS. This includes Account/subscription vending, security and compliance guardrails, identity and access management and connectivity to on-prem systems.
•    Automation of key processes by means of coding in the areas of policy enforcement, deployment of infrastructure as code, account handling, identity and access management, cloud solution development, automatic deployment and configuration of vendor provided software with maintainability and compliance in mind.
•    Providing Cloud Advisory and Support in Region China. This includes advisory on new initiatives from innovation, design and build phases through validation and operation and maintenance phases, - 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line support on the platforms, and escalation of relevant cases to operations vendors 
•    Vendor relationship management: Engage with  AWS and Microsoft China for inspiration and support cases. 
•    Engage with stakeholders in Novo Nordisk Region China to broaden the understanding of cloud technologies and guidance on cloud adaption.  

The team will work closely with the global cloud teams to replicate AWS and Azure services and deliverables and build them for China landing zones in accordance with local business needs. 
 
Qualifications

•    You have an IT related education, preferably at BSc level or higher, and/or min 3 years of professional experience within DevOps engineering and cloud 
•    You are passionate about automation and optimisation of infrastructure operations / cloud operations in a large organisation
•    You enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary environment, have a cross-cultural understanding and are fluent in written and spoken English and master Chinese as well. 

•    As a person you are motivated by challenging assignments, you absorb new knowledge quickly and can quickly assess and understand new technologies or tools.
•    You have solid understanding of AWS or Azure cloud platforms and cloud native services.
•    You have good understanding of Git, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) and Cloud native software delivery.

•    Experience working in a regulated industry like Pharma or healthcare is preferred;
•    Experience in cloud and application security is a plus
•    You have experience in working with Infrastructure as Code (IaC). 

The department – Cloud and Corporate Infrastructure
The positions are based Novo Nordisk office in Beijing. The cloud team is part of the product organisation Cloud & Corporate Infrastructure (C&CI), within Global IT Operations (GITO). A product owner, based in Singapore, has the overall product responsibility in terms of product strategy, prioritization of product deliverables and ensuring stable operations. C&CI comprises of twelve agile teams that work with cloud and corporate infrastructure (both development and operations) globally. All teams are global and have team members from US, Denmark, and India. All teams work closely with numerous business stakeholders and our colleagues in DD&IT.
