About the Department

Global Legal-Global Business Services (GL-GBS) at Bangalore was established in 2011 and supports the Global legal organization across International Operations, North America Operations and Headquarters. The unit is anchored under Global Legal Operations and responsible for delivering efficient offshoring legal services in high quality. Examples include end-to-end contract management, trademark portfolio management, promotional materials review, export controls screenings, system/process management, data management, and digitalization.

 

The Position

As an Associate Legal Counsel you will be responsible for reviewing and negotiating contracts, business ethics and compliance related activities in collaboration with lawyers at region Novo Nordisk UAE and Line of Business. Review contracts, either contracts prepared based on Novo Nordisk standard templates or contracts received from counter parties.

You will also be involved in preparing and drafting contracts in collaboration with Lawyers at Region NN UAE when no standard template is available and will be responding to complex contractual queries. Alongside, you will be responsible for identification of risks and issues and suggesting alternatives that lead to the best solution. Other responsibilities are to:

 

  • Analyse contract requirements, terms and condition and other content to ensure compliance with appropriate laws.
  • Assist Lawyers at Region NN UAE in Business Ethics matters.
  • Review and assess documentation on third parties (e.g. Distributors, consultants etc.) with whom Novo Nordisk has entered or contemplates entering into agreements with.
  • Assist Legal & Compliance responsible for driving the Business Ethics Compliance Programme.
  • Assist the L&C in tracking, updating, reviewing, and reporting data. Supporting the review and the approval of pre-approved/post-activity Forms (PAFs) for UAE.

 

Qualifications 

  • Master’s or bachelor’s in law.
  • 3 - 5 years of working experience in supporting legal department of global corporations on contracts or compliance matters.
  • Exposure of working in a global company.
  • Fluent in English, verbally and written.
  • Quality mind set, accountability, ability to work, timeliness. Excellent command of English, written and spoken.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Collaboration skills, team player.
  • Critical thinking and analytical and takes initiative.
  • Service minded.
