The role 
As our new Public Affairs Manager, you will join the team responsible for the development and implementation of the public affairs strategy for Novo Nordisk’s expanding portfolio to cardiovascular diseases and emerging therapy areas. 

Novo Nordisk is venturing into cardiovascular diseases and is leading the public-private partnership iCARE4CVD. iCARE4CVD is an international research collaboration aiming to personalise prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease. By creating a a federated database with more than 1 million patients, using artificial intelligence iCARE4CVD will look for new strategies to shift from a one-size-fits-all approach to personalised care.

 

In the role as public affairs manager on CVD, your key responsibilities will be:

  • Executing policy and communication activities in the iCARE4CVD collaboration
  • Support development of evidence-based advocacy material built on the outcome and results of the iCARE4CVD partnership in close collaboration with the team and other functions. 
  • Identify and evaluate gaps and needs for the current regulatory and policy landscape in CVD to communicate to regulatory authorities and policy makers to facilitate ethical, safe, and effective adoption and implementation of personalized prediction technology for CVD.
  • Support external policy engagement with partnership organisations, patient groups, and other stakeholders
  • Analyse policies and healthcare trends relevant to cardiovascular disease and derive insights for the advocacy strategy development.
  • Manage the internal communication channels and platforms to support the roll-out and dissemination of the advocacy materials across affiliates 

The role is limited to a two-year period.

 

Qualifications 

To be successful in this position you will have:

  • Ph.D. or master’s degree in political science, international business, or related field
  • Proven experience in complex analyses and policy material development, preferably in healthcare
  • Detail-oriented, energetic team player with a penchant for challenging the status quo
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical mindset and successful track record in project management
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

The ideal candidate should also possess strong proficiency in both written and spoken English, and preferably with knowledge of the EU and CVD. Additionally, experience in a matrix organization is considered advantageous for this role.

 

About the department and team 
Global Public Affairs & Patient Relations (GPAPR) is part of the Global Public Affairs & Sustainability area in Novo Nordisk. We aspire to be a proactive and solutions-oriented partner to patients and policymakers in the joint ambition to raise the standards of care in our therapy areas and help solve society’s fundamental challenges. 

The role is anchored in Cardiovascular and Emerging Therapy Area Public Affairs Team that is driving the development and execution of the public affairs strategy for Novo Nordisk’s expanding portfolio to cardiovascular disease, chronic kidney disease, liver diseases and Alzheimer’s disease. The role will also have a strong liaison with our colleagues working strategically with the iCARE4CVD Public-Private Partnership.
